This collaboration, led by Manchester's Embodied Emotions research group in collaboration with leading history of emotions scholars at the University of Melbourne, seeks to push history of emotions scholarship in new directions by examining how objects triggered, regulated and expressed complex emotional states in the pre-modern world.

This interdisciplinary project places the unique pre-modern collections in Manchester and Melbourne at the centre of its enquiries, and engages with a wide range of methodological and theoretical approaches to material/ism.
