Established in 2017, the centre is home to the MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies.
The Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS) at The University of Manchester exists to bring together the work of staff and doctoral students working on the Middle Ages, the early modern period, and their legacies.
The Centre is also responsible for the MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies, which is taught in conjunction with the John Rylands Library on Deansgate.
Our staff cut across many discipline areas including History, Art History, English Literature, Religions and Theology, and European Languages.
Our emeritus professors have wide-ranging specialisms, from Art History to Anglo-Saxon Literature, and from Economic history to medieval dress and textiles.
